For non-profit organization Amon, a guidance home is being built in Kruisem with 13 rooms and 5 studios, specially designed to offer young people a safe and homely environment. The concept revolves around creating a (t)home.
Central to the design was the principle of a healing environment: large windows provide plenty of light, a strong connection to the environment and a sense of space and freedom.
The building combines a public and private section. On the street side are administrative premises separated from the private areas by a dividing door, accessible only to staff.
On the second floor, 9 rooms and 3 studios are provided. Between the rooms and studios is a passageway, so that young people in the studios can work step by step toward independence.
This project offers not only a safe place to live, but also space for personal development and growth, fully tailored to the needs of young people in counseling.
