The project to reconstruct and renovate two wings at AZ Sint-Lucas has now been successfully completed. This intervention offers a significant improvement in the care capacity and functional layout of the hospital, with an emphasis on sustainability and the integration of advanced technologies.
The new wing of AZ Sint-Lucas includes a range of modern facilities, including an obstetrics ward, an expanded neonatology, a psychiatric ward (PAAZ) and a 30-bed nursing unit. The building was designed with energy efficiency and integration of sustainable installations in mind. Innovative techniques, such as heat recovery, solar energy and a green roof, contribute to the sustainable operation of the hospital and support the project’s environmentally friendly vision.
The technical installations were carefully integrated into the existing infrastructure, without interrupting the continuity of care. In addition, the circulation flow for patients, visitors and staff was optimized, contributing to a more efficient and user-friendly hospital.
With the completion of this project, AZ Sint-Lucas not only expanded its care capacity, but also invested in the future by focusing on sustainable, flexible and innovative care environments.
