In collaboration with Detoo Architects and Artes, we completed the expansion and renovation of the prison in Ypres, a project that responds to the growing demand for detention capacity. By adding additional cells and improving the existing facilities, capacity was significantly increased. The expansion was realized by adding new floors to the existing building, which was thoroughly renovated and adapted to current requirements.
The renovation paid particular attention to sustainability and security. The building meets modern energy efficiency requirements and provides a safe and humane environment for both inmates and staff. The integration of sustainable techniques ensures that the building is not only functional, but also contributes to a lower ecological footprint. The new facilities are designed to support the operational functioning of the prison without sacrificing comfort or safety.
This project highlights our expertise in successfully realizing renovations and expansions, combining the technical and functional requirements of a detention environment with the principles of sustainability and security.
