The VZW Ter Kimme project includes the replacement new construction of 90 rooms, located to the east of the existing residential and care center. The extension, also over three floors, fits seamlessly with the original construction, creating a cohesive whole that enhances the functionality and aesthetics of the site.

During realization, special attention was paid to building techniques and stability. Thoughtful design and high-quality building materials allowed the new wing to be harmoniously integrated, with a stable support structure that makes the expansion durable and safe. The central hub, in which general services are grouped, acts as a logistical hub and ensures efficient operation of the center.

Modern techniques such as energy-efficient HVAC systems and insulation materials have been used to ensure a pleasant indoor environment and a low carbon footprint. Large windows and strategically placed passages maximize contact with the surrounding landscape and provide plenty of natural light, contributing to the well-being of the residents.

This project illustrates how stability, building technology and architecture can go hand in hand in the healthcare sector, with a strong focus on sustainability and quality of life.
